Mr. L. M. Jones.

The death occurred on March 15, of Mr. Llewellyn Mander Jones, at Boo-nara homestead, Goomeri, at the age of 75 years. The late Mr. Jones was the eldest son of David Mander Jones, who was the son of David Jones, the founder of David Jones and Co., of Sydney. Mr. David Mander Jones with his brother, Mr. George Hall Jones, were the owners of Boonara station, and Mr. L. M. Jones, with his mother, brother, and sisters, took over the station in 1891. The pro-perty was sold to a syndicate in 1911, and the town of Goomeri was formed on part of the run. The late Mr. L. M. Jones retained the homestead with 1300 acres, and he lived there to the time of his death. He visited England in 1886, and in 1912 with his wife, who was Miss Kathleen Margaret Ford. He is survived by his widow, three sons, and three daughters. For 20 years he was a member of the Kil-kivan Shire Council, occupying the position of chairman on several occa-

sions.
