BIRTH.

At Macquarie Field, on Monday, the 26th instant, Mrs. MEEHAN, of a daughter.

DEATH.

On Sunday last, after a long and severe illness, at his country-seat at Kirkham, JOHN

OXLEY, Esq. Surveyor General for the Terri-tory of New South Wales. Mr. OXLEY leaves an amiable widow, and small family, to de-plore the loss of a tender husband and affec-tionate parent. The deceased has been en-gaged in the Colonial Government for the last 16 or 18 years, during which he ever proved himself a zealous and laborious Servant of the Crown. — Vide Government Order, first page.
