INTER-CLUB CRICKET

Yorick Team's Jest.

On the eve of their annual cricket match against the Savage Club, members of the Yorick Club conceived a little joke against the Savage men by including in their team Mr. Clem Hill, one of the selectors of the Australian Eleven who, as honorary member of their club was eligible to play. Mr Hill made an unobtrusive late entry on tho field relieving the State auditor-general (Mr J A Norris) The former Test match player was quickly recognised by the Savage Club men and warmly wel-comed. A brilliant catch near the boun-dary shortly afterwards damaged Mr Hill's hand but he won a fair measure ot success as a bowler, taking one wicket for 21 runs. As a batsman he hit a succession of 4's and then retired to catch the Adelaide express Despite his assistance, the Savage Club won by 25 runs, the scores being: Savage Club, 142; Yorick Club 117. The Yorick Club which has hitherto had an unbeaten re-

cord, is anxious for revenge and it is prob-able that a return match will be played in the autumn, when the members of the Yorick Club hope to have their "star" batsman, the Speaker (Mr Watt M H R ) who was unfortunately unable to play yesterday.
