After the fifth lound Austin bogan to show out, lus unerring left and masterly defence de-moralising Lyons, whoso faco soon began to show traces of Austin's handiwork, lu tho last three rounds Austin completely overmatched him, and Lyons showed con-siderable courage in tho manner he weathered through. Tho verdict of MT. Al. Dunn in favour of Austin was loudly cheered. The winner was seconded by M'C'rae, Sol. Jones, and TJiirkel, Lyons being attended by Depena, Taylor, and Mullins. The match which had been an-nounced to take place was between Uei-tor Melville and .Marool Denis. The public were not in any sense losers by the change in the fixture. In a prelimumiy bout J. Wells defeated Lane in five rounds. Fred. Dyer, who will meet Sol. Jones on Satin day next, showed tluit no deserves his designation of "the singing boxer" by rendering two songs in ii fine baritone. Dyer and Jones will appear at a free matinee on Thursday afternoon.
