NEW TOWN OF COOLANGATTA.

By an Order in Council, issued yesterday, Coolangatta was constituted a town. The new local authority has been created out of Division 3 of the Shire of Nerang. There will be three wards, with three aldermen for each ward. The first election is to be held at the Court House, Coolangatta, nomination day having been fixed for June 30, and polling day for July 21. The clerk of the Nerang Council (Mr. E.J. Foote) has been appointed to act as returning officer. Postal ballot regulations for the new town have

been approved.
