The Cleveland Railway.

The duplication of the Cleveland line between Park-road and Murarrie was opened for public traffic yesterday. The first train to use it happened to be the meat supply train at 1.50 The block system and interlocking have been in-stalled to supersede the train staff sys-tem, the sections being Park-Road and Coorparoo, Coorparoo and Norman Park (junction of the Belmont line) and Nor-man Park to Muarrie. Matters are work-ing smoothly and the trains are running to time. The remainder of the duplica-lion to Manly will take about two months to finish. It has been delayed by the amount of bridge work to be constructed. The second new suburban train, with cross-seats and side doors and electric lights, was placed on the Cleveland line yesterday, in accordance with the promise of the Commissioner. The train consists of six carriages. Two of these trains are to be employed on the South Side when the six trains have been constructed. The later trains will be constructed without partitions above the height of the seats, so that they will be different to the trains

already sent out.
