RUGBY FOOTBALL.

The final for the Brook Cup took place on the East Ipswich ground this afternoon, when the Pioneers met Goodna. Within a few minutes of the kick-off Watson secured and scored near the corner for the Pion-eers. Brown failed to add the extra

points. In play again Goodna rushed the ball to the Pioneer terri-tory, compelling the latter to save. Pioneers then livened up and carried the ball to tho Goodna line, where from a scrum Beattie secured, and passed to Watson, who scored in the corner. The kick at goal was a fail-ure. Half-time came shortly after-wards with the scores Pioneer 6 points ; Goodna, nil. On resuming Pioneers rushed the ball to the Good-na line, where Morgan picked up from the ruck and scored in the corner. The try was not converted. Immedi-ately afterwards Morgan again se-cured and broke away, and when tackled by the full back passed to Watson, to A. Jeffrey, who scored behind the posts. Beat-ties kick was unsuccessful. Again Pioneers broke away, and Morgan put in a good run, and scored. The try was converted. Pion-eers still pressed, and J. Watson gaining possession, scored a very easy try. McMurdy added the ne-cessary points. No further score re-sulted. Pioneers winning by 20 points

to nil.

Junior Starlights met St. Paul's B. in the Brook Cup competition, and defeated them by 14 points to

three.

Peak Crossing beat C.Y.M.S. by 23 points to 5.

Junior Minor.-Starlights defeated Premiers by 5 points to 4.

Past Brothers beat Excelsiors by 3 points to nil.

Senior Cadets forfeited to Har-riers.

AUSTRALIAN RULES.

A Grade.-Ipswich easily defeated Brisbane by 102 points (14 goals 18 behinds) to one point.

B grade.-Loco . forfeited to West
