THE CUMBERLAND POISONING CASE.

The Commissioner of Police has received a report through the Normanton police on the poisoning case which occurred at Cum-berland ou the 20th instant. Two men, named John Wilson and -Hollywood, had been drinking at the hotel, and went into one of the bedrooms and drank from a bottle of -muriatic acid in mistake. The police from Georgetown, with the' Police Magistrate and a doctor, arrived the same day. The men were conveyed to the Georgetown Hospital, where Hollywood died on Friday night, while Wilson's re-covery is doubtful. Tho depositions of Hollywood were taken before he died. There are no suspicious circumstances sur-rounding the case, but an inquiry is being

held.
