Aboriginal Killer

Is Himself Killed

DARWIN, Wednesday."Tiger," an aboriginal who murdered two white men be-fore the Second World War, has himself been murdered at Auvergne Station.

Police are searching for "Split Lip Dick," an aboriginal who has taken to the bush with Tiger's young wife.

Tiger was a member of the nomadic Cahn-Mah tribe.

He was an associate of Nemarluk, known as the "king of the wilds" in the 1930s. He killed two lonely prospec-tors, Stevens and Cooke, in

the Fitzmaurice River district, and was sentenced to a long term of imprisonment.

He escaped from Fannie Bay gaol at Darwin and was recaptured.

He was released when the gaol gates were opened after the first Japanese bombing raid on Darwin.

Another aboriginal named Duncan has been found dead with wounds in the skull at Shoal Bay, 20 miles from Darwin. It is believed he was killed with a sharp iron bar.

Police have charged a native named "Diamond" with the murder.
