Hundreds Die On Frontier

LONDON, Feb. 22 (A.A.P.) -India announced yesterday that hundreds of persons have

been killed in Hindu-Moslem rioting, which has raged for almost a fortnight along the frontier between India abd East Pakistan.

? A censorship imposed since February 10 has held up news of the clashes, most of which have taken place in Assam (India) and East Bengal (Pakis-tan).

Indian and Pakistan officials accuse each other's nationals of inciting the riots.

The Indian Prime Minister, Pandit Nehru, has asked the Pakistan Prime Minister, Liaquat Ali Khan, for an immediate in-quiry.

Indian officials ' in ' New Delhi claimed last night that the riots began on February 10, when Moslems paraded in Dacca and demanded- "revenge" on Hindus. They said that since then, hun-dreds of Hindus had been mur-dered in East Bengal, and that 50,000 of Dacca's 80,000 Hindus have had to flee from their homes.

In New York yesterday the Pakistan Foreign Minister, Sir Zafrulla Khan, was given police protection.

He had appealed for protection because he believed that Indian fanatics might attempt to kill him. _______________
