Record Boxing "Gate"
NEW YORK, Aug. 5 (A.A.P.).Beau Jack outpointed the lightweight champion, Bob Montgomery, in a 10 rounds non-title benefit bout at Madi-son Square Garden.
The gate receipts were the largest in boxing histor)', almost 36 million dollars in War Bonds- It was their fourth encounter, and Jack and Mont-gomery have each won twice.
The nearest approach to the gate receipts Was 2,668,660 dollars in the first match between Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey on September 22,
