Because of* the death of Mr. R. N". Beale, Independent mem-ber for the South Coast, the Legislative Assembly adjourned yesterday after a brief sitting.

The Premier, Mr. McKell, who moved P. vote of condolence, said thatMr. Beale had come into the House only a short while before, and might be regarded' as a new member. His actions in tbe Bouse, in many in-stances, might have been regarded AS unorthodox, but no one ever ques-tioned their sincerity. He had been untiring on behalf of his constituents. His death meant a great loss, not only to his constituency, but to the House

as well.

The leader of the Opposition, Mr. Mau", Mr. X3. H. .Drummond (Armi-dale) on behalf oí the Country Party, and Mr. D. J?, Macdonald (Mosman), on behalf of Independent members, also praised Mr. Beale's outstanding qualities.

The motion of condolence was assented to by members standing in silence, and the House adjourned until
