"The Importance of Being Earnest"

one of Oscar Wilde's most famous comedies, greatly amused a large audience at the Independent Theatre North Syd-ney on Saturday.

Marie Rosenfeld who played the part of the Hon Gwendoline Fairfax cleverly carried off various moods and situations. John Appleton appeared in the character of John Worthing Worthings friend, Algernon Moncrief, was a fine piece of characterisation by Redmond Phillips

Others in the cast were Natalie Simon, Desmond Rolfe, Bruce Beeby, and Frede-rick Munro

The play was produced by Doris Fitton and will be repeated on Wednesday and ISaturday evenings.
