CAMDEN AERODROME

TAKEN OVER.

The Air Board will take over the Mac-quarie Grove Aerodrome, Camden, for ihe establishment of a central flying school under the Empire Air Scheme.

The aerodrome Is owned by Mr. E. Macarthur Onslow, and Is considered to be ideal for flying training. It has long run-ways, clear approaches, and ample room for extensions if required.

A number of hangars and workshops already erected will be converted Tor Air Force use, and it is likely that hutments will be built for instructors and recruits undergoing

courses.

The Air Board Is considering the advisability of transferring flying training activities from Kingsford Smith Airport and Essendon Aero-drome to country districts. A lnrge sum of money, however, has already been spent at Mascot on the erection of hutments and the purchase nf equipment._
