"PRIVATE LIVES." ¡

-«- i

Members of the C.40 Theatre gave a per- ! formance of "Private Lives," preceded by a j one-act play by Hartney Arthur, on Satur- 1 day evening. The players had had the ad-

vantage of previously seeing Coward's comedy i in both the theatre and cinema, and though theil' performance was without distinction, it was on the whole creditable. The parts of Amanda and Elyot were taken by Jean McAllster and, Hartney Arthur. Miss McAlister gave a spirited performance, but Mr. Arthur

discounted himself considerably at times by I merely mumbling whole lines of the dialogue. < Shirley Dockett was Sybil Chase, and George i Twist took the part of Victor Prynae. 1
