OBITUARY.

MRS. JAMES BANCKS.

The death occurred yesterday, at a private hospital, of Mrs. James Bancks, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Tait, of Point Piper. She was well known as one of Sydney's younger hostesses, and took a prominent part in social life. She worked for a number of charities, but one of her chief interests, and that of her husband, the well-known car-toon artist, was the Golden Fleece Free Kin-dergarten, of which she was a council mem-ber. Mrs. Bancks was also a member of the entertainment committee of the Kindergarten

Union.

As Miss Jessie Tait, Mrs. Bancks was well known as a dress designer, having done a great deal of stage designing before her wedding.
