THE CHURCHES.

NEW ROSEVILLE CHURCH.

The foundation-stone of a new Anglican Church at Roseville was laid by Archbishop Mowll on Saturday afternoon He was assisted in the ceremony by Archdeacon Lang-ley the Moderator-General of the Presby-terian Church (the Rt. Rev. G. R. S. Reid), and the Rev. W. J. Roberts the rector.

The rector said that there was £2000 in hand towards the cost of the new church, which would be about £5500. Seating ac-commodation for about 350 would be pro-vided. The architect is Mr. C. C. Finch, and the builder Mr. S. C. Molineaux.

GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH

A special Easter service conducted by Archbishop Tlmotheos was held yesterday at the Greek Orthodox Chuich Bourke-street Surry Hills Archbishop Mowll and other dignltaiies of the Anglican Church attended At the High Altar Archbishop Umothcos was assisted by the Rev Fnthei Nicodemus and the Rev Father Shehadle of the Syiian Orthodox Church the Rev Di P A MicUem Archdeacon Johnstone and tie Rev Stuait Watts
