WHITE VELVET.

Mediaeval Gown. GOLDEN NOTE.

A gleaming golden girdle added a note of colour to the mediaeval gown of white velvet worn by Miss Prudence Hardinge Fitzhardinge for her wedding last night to Mr. Bowen Bartlett Bryant, which took place at St. John's Church, Wahroonga.

Over the graceful folds of the gown fell an old veil of embroidered tulle, which has been in the possession of the bride's family for many years. Her bouquet of golden orchids and white gardenias completed the white and gold colour scheme, which was also worn by the two brides-maids, the Misses Jean Fitz-hardinge, sister of the bride, and Peggy Prell (Goulburn). Their caped frocks were of white brocade, embossed in gold, and they carried floral muffs in golden tones.

The bride is the younger daughter of Dr. and Mrs. H. C. Fitzhardinge, of Warrawee, and the bridegroom is the third son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bryant, of Sydney. Mr. Murray Gosper was best man, and Mr. Alan Stuart groomsman. The ceremony was per-formed by the Rev. C. James, assisted by the

Rev. D. J. Flockhart.

At Bridge End, Warrawee, the residence of Dr. and Mrs. H. C. Fitzhardinge, where a re-ception took place after the ceremony, a mar-quee was erected on the lawn for the wedding breakfast, which was followed by a dance. Mrs. Fitzhardinge received her guests wearing a gown of silver grey lace and a black velvet toque, and carrying a posy of shaded berries. She was assisted in entertaining by Mrs. George Bryant, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, whose frock was of burgundy crepe.

Among the guests were Miss Elizabeth Har-vey (Bathurst), Mr. and Mrs. M. A. H. Fitz-hardinge, Mr. and Mrs. John Bryant, Mr. and Mrs. L. Bice (Inverell), Lady David, and Miss Molly David, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Fitzhar-dinge, Mrs. E. G. Strang, Dr. and Mrs. Chis-holm Ross, Miss Fitzhardinge, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Glasson, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Prell (Goulburn), Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Ross, Miss West, Dr. and Mrs. Mathews (Orange), Mr. and Mrs. A. Raven, Mr. and Mrs. Beresford Grant, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Hudson.
