METROPOLITAN AMATEUR ASSOCIATION

After more than four years of inactivity due to the war the Metropolitan Amateur Football Asso- ciation renewed its competitions on Saturday. The day was not a good one for football, the wind making the play very congested and there was little display of the brilliant football which was characteristic of the association in pre-war days. Tlie results of the matches were as follows:—

Elsternwick 6 goals 18 behinds (54 points) de-feated University 4 goals 5 behinds (29 points)

Old Melburnians 10 goals 15 behinds (75 points), defeated South Yarra 4 goals 7 behinds (31 points).

Teachers College 9 goals 10 behinds (64 points) defeated Melbourne Swimming Club 2 goals 6 behinds (18 points).

Collegians 7 goals 11 behinds (53 points) defeated Old Caulfield Grammarians, 6 goals 14 behinds (50 points).
