INTERNATIONAL CONTAINER

BUREAU.

The International Container Bureau estab-lished under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce was officially called into being at a constitutive meeting held on Feb-ruary 22 last at the offices of the Inter-national Chamber in Paris. In addition to the German, French, British, Italian, and Belgian railways, who have already agreed in principle to affiliate, many of the railway administrations belonging to the International Union of Railways, as well as the automobile organisations, shipping companies, associa-tions of forwarding agents, etc., of a number of countries were represented at this meeting. The object of the International Container Bureau is to organise International collabora-tion on a permanent basis for the best possible exploitation of containers in international

traffic.
