Plans for New Film.

It was announced some weeks ago that the next Australian film produced by Clnesound, Ltd.,' who were responsible for "On Our Selec-tion," would probably be "The Silence of Dean

Maitland." Now, however, the company has changed its plans. It will begin work In a few weeks -on a play entitled "The Squatter's Daughter," by Bert Bailey, and Edward Dug-gan. The film version is being prepared by E. V. Timms, who has already written several scenarios for the screen. It will bring In many pictures of sheep-ralslng In the inland regions, and important grazing Interests have

promised to co-operate. It is hoped that the ! film, when completed, will be a fine piece of publicity for Australia overseas. Mr. Ken Hall, the general manager of Clnesound, Ltd., said yesterday that he still had "The Silence of Dean Maitland" in view for the future: but at present It seemed impossible to find an actor capable of giving full significance to the character of the dean. The cast of "The Squatter's Daughter" has not yet been de-cided upon.
