As a result of his decisive win In the first division of the Tramway Handicap on Satur-day, Pentheus immediately became a clear-cut favourite again for the Epsom Handicap Wau-goola, winner of the second division In a quarter of a second foster time than that regis-tered by Pentheus, has firmed to second favouritism, while Legislator, Burracootboo, and Sir Chrystophcr have receded several points.

DUNCAN NOT APPEALING.

MELBOURNE, Thursday.

W. Duncan, the leading lightweight jockey, who was suspended for three months by the stewards at Bendigo on August 27, and whoso appeal to the Northern District Racing Asso-ciation was unsuccessful, has not availed him-self of his right to appeal to the V.R.C. The time allowed for lodging the appeal expired on Saturday. Duncan rode St. Flavian, win-ner of the Inglis Handicap at Bendigo, and It was alleged that he deliberately attempted to interfered with Income. Duncan's sus-pension will mean that he will not be seen in the saddle In the spring.

STEWARDS* REPORTS.

The stipendiary stewards at Randwick yes-terday issued the following reports:-(1) In the Novice Handicap, Operapie (Knight) lost his rider after the field had gone about half a furlong through getting on the heels of another horse; (2) in the same race, H. Rus-sell, rider of Fair Money, was reprimanded for not having more control over his mount to-wards the finish of the race, thus causing some Interference to Imperialist. (3) In the same race, Nash met with a little accidental interference early, and Rowan Berry met trouble at the top of the straight, due to horses swinging in. (4) Carroll, rider of Ranworth In the first division of the Tramway Handicap, was fined £1 for having untidy gear. (5) In the second division, High Dis-dain met with accidental Interference at the 5f post. (6) In the same race, Sunlit Reef got on the heels of Sun Eagle as the latter dropped In behind the leaders.

TOTALISATOR INVESTMENTS.

With an attendance of approximately 23,000 -some 7000 fewer than for the corresponding day last year--the totallsator at Randwick put through £30,652, compared with £27,670/15/ In 1030. There was an extra race on Satur-day's programme, the Tramway Handicap being divided. For a win £7776/5/ was wagered through the machines, and for the place pools £22,875/15/ was subscribed.

Singapore, winner of the Doncaster Cup, is a bay four-year-old horse by Gainsborough from Tetrabbazlea, by The Tetrach from Abbazla, by Isinglass. He Is owned by Lord Glanely, and this year finished second In the Ascot Gold Cup and third in the Eclipse

APPEAL UPHELD.

CESSNOCK, Saturday.

The Northern Districts Racing Association Board has upheld the appeal of the Sydney Jockey, F. Taylor, who was suspended for three months at the Cessnock Jockey Club's meeting on August 22, for alleged interfer-

ence.

ALBURY RACES ABANDONED.

ALBURY, Saturday.

As rain again fell this morning, and the racecourse was reported to be in an unsatis-factory condition, the Race Club committee held a meeting, and decided to abandon to-day's section of the show race meeting. The club expected to lose heavily on the meeting.

At Randwick on Saturday High Disdain sustained a slight cut on the off forearm.

O. Cullum sustained concussion when Scot-tish March fell in the Hurdle Race at Rand-wick. Pearce, rider of Perldes, suffered from a bruise on the right thigh.

The annual meeting of the Narrabri Jockey Club decided to conduct a race meeting on October 7 and 8, five races each doy, and total prize money of £110. The following hon. officers were elected: Patron, Mr. R. Shields; president, Mr. E. P. Hogan; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. H. Cramsie, J. Donnolley; hon. treasurer, Mr. R. L. Manning. Mr. J. P. Butler was appointed secretary. The committee was
