GRAY-STEWART. - [Golden Wedding.]- On the

BLAXALL.- In loving memory of Corporal Kenneth

E. Blaxall, killed in action on October 13, 1917.

BONELLA.- Died of wounds, on the 24th of May, at

the 26th General Hospital, France, Private J. H. Bonella, Anzac, 21st Battalion, after three years' active service, dearly beloved husband of Lila, and dear daddy of little Arie; dearly beloved son-

in-law of Mr. and Mrs. J. Puncher, Avenel.

BONELLA.- Died of wounds, on the 24th of May, 1918, at 26th General Hospital, France, Private

James Henry (Jim), Anzac, 21st Battalion, after three years' active service; loving uncle of Phyllis and Dorothy.

Every flower may fade and die; Every sinking sun may set,

But you, dear Jim, we will never forget.

BOWDEN.- Killed in action in France, Charles Maxwell Bowden, lieutenant A.I.F.

ELIASON.- In loving memory of Pte. Victor Eliason, 2nd Machine Gun Co., late 7th Batt., who was killed in

action somewhere in France on 23rd May, 1918, after nearly four years' service for King and country.

HILL. - William Aubrey (Aubrey), on 13th May,

1918, the well-loved eldest son of William and

E. A. Hill, "Inverary," Lillimur, late of Broughton

and Leahy street, Nhill, aged 29 years and 6 months. Brother of ex-Trooper Douglas G. Hill, Hamilton; and Rae and Edna, Lillimur.

KIRK. - Died of wounds, in France, on the 1st

April, the Rev. James F. Kirk, M.A., C.F.,

M.C., attached to Seaforth Highlanders, dearly loved husband of Eliz. M. Kirk, The Manse, Dunbar, Scotland; brother-in-law of Lucy MacKay, 66 Park street, South Yarra.

MADDEN. - Officially reported killed in action in

France, 2nd May, 1918, Acting Corporal Fredk. W. E. Madden, 8th Battalion, dearly beloved fiance of Ethel M. Mitchell, 4 Moore street, Moreland.

"Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright, for the end of that man is peace."

POWER. - Killed in action in France on 14th May, Private Kilian Patrick Power, beloved eldest son of James and Catherine Power, Merbein, age 21 years.

May his soul rest in peace.

TATHAM. - Private George Herbert, No. 7,598, 25 S Battalion, officially reported killed in action, May 2, beloved only son of Sarah and the late Alfred Frederick Tatham, of Brighton, loved brother of Nellie (Mrs. Wiggett), and Teanie (Mrs. MacGregor), aged 25 years.

TATHAM. - Private George Herbert, dearly loved

nephew of Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Quiggin, fond cousin of Bernice Quiggan and Olive Menan, Malvern. God be with you till we meet again.

DEATHS.

ANDERSON (nee Cissie Barnes) - On 1st June,

Emily Laura Barnes, beloved wife of Charles Anderson, only daughter of Elizabeth Jane and the late George Thomas, loving sister of William

George, of Prahran, after a short illness, passed peacefully away, aged 36 years.

BARCLAY. - On the 2nd June, at "Marinook," private

hospital, East Melbourne, Mary O'Hara (Minnie), beloved wife of John Barclay, Kevin, Watt street, Sunshine, and loved and loving mother of Ina, Gunner Reg and Gunner Jack (both on active service abroad), aged 58 years. (Private interment 3rd June.)

BARROW. - On the 1st June, at Piper street, Kyneton, Joan Barrow, loving father of Mrs. C. Bourdner, Ada, Mrs Hood, C.S., and J.P. Barrow, in his 87th year. Interred privately.

BIGGS. - On the 2nd June (accidentally killed),

Rose, the beloved wife of Thomas Biggs, and loving sister of Mrs Taylor, Mrs Thomas, Mrs Gordon, Mrs Craig, and Rieta Rowe, of Easy street, Collingwood, aged 36 years.

CAMPBELL. - On the 2nd June, at Hampton street, Brighton, Nellie, beloved wife of Bruce Campbell, and mother of Annie and Bruce William. (Interred privately.)

CARTER. - On the 2nd June, at 5 A'Beckett street,

Kew, Charlotte, relict of the late Rev. Wm. Carter, B.A., aged 98 years. (Privately

interred.)

A life's work, nobly done.

DENNEHY. - On 3rd June, 1918, at 82 Wattletree

road, Malvern, William John, the beloved husband of Agnes Macfarlane Dennehy, aged 53 years. (Private interment. )

EWART. - On the 2nd June, at "Glen Villa," 77

Newry street, North Carlton, David Ewart, J.P., a colonist of 63 years, and the first owner of Pranjip Park, Murchison, aged 92 years.

GUY. - On the 1st June, 1918, Rachel Pattle, dearly loved daughter of Pattie and Albert Guy, 8 Campbell road, Canterbury, aged 6 years and 8 months. Privately interred 2nd June.

IRVINE. - On the 2nd June, after a short illness

Ada Mary, the dearly beloved wife of Richard John Irvine, of "Lockinge," Mayfield grove,

Malvern, beloved mother of Irene and Nellie, loved sister of Nellie, Harry, and Grace Stone.

The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away. McKERRELL. - On the 2nd June, 1918, at the residence

of her son, Iona, 42 Buckley street, Essendon, Jeannie Stewart, relict of the late Robert

McKerrell, Glasgow, Scotland, dearly loved mother of Jim and Nellie; loved grandmother of Jean, Ken, Stewart, and Donald, in her 86th

year.

Deeply mourned and sadly missed.

MURPHY. - On the 30th May, 1918, at St. Vincent's private hospital, Darlinghurst (Sydney), Martin Murphy, of Brocklesby, aged 78 years. R.I.P.

NORWOOD. - On the 3rd June, Ellen, the beloved

wife of the Rev. Henry H.J. Norwood, of the

Holy Trinity Vicarage, Kensington, and loved mother of Leonard Hesketh, and sister of Mrs C.K. Davidson, of Glentronie, W.A.

RALSTON. - On the 31st May, at "Curnulla," Murrumbeena, Robert Ralston, aged 85 years, formerly of Victorian Railways. Interred at St Kilda,

1st June, 1918.

STEPHENSON. - On the 1st June, at Children's

Hospital, Robert Ronald, dearly loved son of Robert and Gladys Stephenson, of 2 Bayview

terrace, Kensington, and dear little brother of Olive, aged 14 months. Interred privately, June 3, Fawkner Cemetery.

WHEADON. - On the 3rd June, at her residence,

Fenwick street, Portarlington, Clara Gertrude, beloved wife of Reginald Wheadon, loving mother of little Jack, daughter of the late Wil-liam and Janet, and loving sister ol Janet Fea-tonby, The Cottages, Kew, aged 34 years.
