EARTH TREMOR.

GUNDAGAI, Friday.

An earthquake, lasting several seconds, affected the district at 9.30 last night. In places crockery was knocked off the shelves and windows rattled.

Father Pigot, of Riverview College, said last night that the instruments in his obser-vatory at Riverview had distinctly recorded the tremor. It was of no significance.

"It was really so trifling," said Father Pigot, "that it is not worth offering any com-

ment upon."
