NURMI'S NEW RECORDS.

VANCOUVER, Feb. 12. In

a special race at Buffalo, Paavo Nurmi, the Finnish runner, established three new world's indoor records for 2000 yards, 2000 metres, and a mile and a quarter. Nurmi clipped from seven to eleven seconds off the existing records, which were held by him.

He reached the 2000yds post in 4m 53 3-5s, being seven seconds better than his previous record, and the 2000 metres post in 5m 22 2-53, as against 5s 33s previously. The time occupied in covering one and a quarter mile was 6m 23 4-5s. as compared with the former time of 6m 30 2-5s.

In the 16 races in which he has competed since his arrival in the United States. Nurmi has broken 22 world's records.

His fellow-countryman, Rltola, broke both indoor and outdoor world's records by running two- miles In 9 3 45s. Reuter.

The Paris Academy of Sports has awarded its Grand Gold Medal to the British sprinter Abrahams, in recognition of his performances at the Olympic Games.
