UNREST IN GERMANY.

Dr. Liebknecht's Sentence.

Agitation by Socialists.

There is a continued agitation in Germany against the punishment inflicted on Dr. Liebknecht, the Socialist member of the Reichstag, who was recently sentenced to two and a half years' imprisonment for high

treason.

A pamphlet has been circulated through-out Germany protesting against the conviction and sentence of Dr. Liebknecht. It says in conclusion:

"Let the assassins condemn Dr. Liebknecht if they dare. Their judgment will awaken in the empire and among the men in the trenches such an echo that the authors of the war will lose both hearing and sight." '
