Rear-Admiral Percival Hall Thompson, who has been appointed to succeed Vice-Admiral Sir Allan Everett as First Member of the Australian Naval Board, occupied the post of inspector of war-like stores at Garden

Island In 1901-3, and In May, 1914, com[ manded the Philomel. He noted as naval ad-
