Plots in Canada

German Officer Acquitted.

Hans Tauscher, accused in New York of complicity in a plot to destroy the Welland Canal, in Canada, has been acquitted. Madame Gadski, a famous singer, who is

the wife of the accused, sat beside him in court. Tauscher was alleged to have planned with Horst von der Goltz, alias Bridgman Taylor, recently brought from Britain for trial in New York to conduct a military invasion of Canada. Tauscher was formerly a Gcrman officer and agent for Krupp's in the United States. The evidence strongly implicated him.
