RHODES SCHOLAR. MR.

A. C. WALLACE CHOSEN

FOR 1922.

At a meeting at Government House yesterday, presided over by his Excellency the Governor, Mr. A. C. Wallace was chosen as the New South Wales Rhodes Scholar for 1922. Mr. Wallace is a scholar of St. Andrew's College at the University, and is 21 years of age. He is an old boy of the Sydney

Grammar School, and has combined fine athletic qualities with noteworthy scholastic

attainments He stroked his school eight to]

victory in the all schools' championship, and played in the three-quarter line in the school' first fifteen; also he represented all schools in football matches against the University and the united services. He is now in second

year arts, and has taken an active part in the

sports and community life of the University. In his first year he stroked the University eight in the inter-'Varsity regatta, and is secretary of the Arts Society.
