MOTOR-BOAT DRIVERS.

The Sydney Labour Council last evening de-cided to appoint a deputation to approach the authorities regarding certain regulations re-cently passed by the Navigation Department.

According to representatives of the Marine Motor Drivers and Coxswains' Union, boys of 18 were now to be permitted to apply for certificates as drivers. In view of the fact that some motor boats carried 50 or even 100 passengers on harbour excursions, it was pointed out that such a regulation would in-troduce an element of very considerable risk.

In 1910 the age limit was fixed at 20.
