In order to give international players who may be here for the Davis Cup a chance of taking part in big competitions before the cup is played for, the Australasian champions have been fixed to be de- cided about three weeks or a month before the in-ternational contest. This year the Australasian meet-in will be held in Sydney, and the date so far agreed upon is October 17.

In the final of the gentlemen's doubles at the Sheffield and Hallamshire tournament A. F. Wilding and L. O. S. Poidevin beat Allen and Allen 9–11, 6–0, 6–2, 6–3; and in the singles A. F. Wilding beat E. R. Allen, 6–1, 6–4, 6–3. Poidevin scratched in the first round.
