VICE-REGAL.

His Excellency, tho Governor-General will pay an official visit to Goulburn and district on Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11.

His Excellency Sir George Le Hunte, K.C.M.G., Governor of South Australia, at-tended by Captain the Hon. R. M. Ryder, A.D.C., has left Government Houso, and is the guest of his Excellency the Governor at State Government House.

His Excellency the Administrator of Papua, Captain F. R. Barton, C.M.G., has left Sydney on the conclusion of his visit to their Excel-

lencies the Governor-General and Lady North-j

cote, and proceeds to England on 12 months', leave of absence by tbe P. and O. R.M.S. Victoria, leaving Adelaide on Thursday.

Miss Rawson, accompanied by his Excel-lency Sir George Le Hunte, Governor of South Australia, and a party from State Govern-ment House, were present at the Black-Premyslav concert at the Town Hall last night.

Sir Henry Knight, ex-Lord Mayor of Lon-don, is to be entertained this afternoon by members of the State Ministry at a trip around the harbour. Diver Hughes will be one of the guests on the occasion.

Sir John Forrest and party arrived at Hobart from Launceston yesterday afternoon. The Acting Premier and Lady Forrest are

guests at Government House. Sir John and

Lady Forrest will accompany Sir Gerald and Lady Strickland to Bismark, a German settle-

ment.

Mr. A. Chapman, Postmaster-General, and Mr. Lockyer, Acting Comptroller-General of

Customs, left Melbourne for Adelaide last evening on departmental business.

During his absence in England in the com-ing session of the Federal Parliament Senator Pulsford will be paired with Senator McGregor,

the leador of the Labour party.

Mr. C. E. W. Bean, barrister, has resigned his appointment as associate to Mr. Justice

Owen.

Tho Rev. J. C. Kirby, chairman of the Con-gregational Union of South Australia, with the Rev. Dr. Roseby and Messrs. E. Dowling, J. Pottie, and A, Allen, have arranged a re-union of old friends of the Pltt-street Congre-gatlonal Church, to be held In the School Hall to-morrow afternoon.

Mr. Clark Duff, B.A., who has been for some considerable time in charge of the parishioners

of Presbyterian churches at Abermaine

and Cessnock, was on Saturday entertained'

at a large farewell social at both places prior

to his departure for Sydney. He was the recipient of handsome presents. The parishioners and public at Cessnock presented him with a gold watch, and those at Abermaine with gold links and a handsome silver-mounted

umbrella. The Rev. Mr. McCook, B.A., occupied the chair at Cessnock, and spoke in eulogistic terms of the guest's high attainments

and the love and respect in which he was held by all classes and religious bodies of

the district. The high opinions were ably

endorsed by the Rev. Mr. Clifford (Anglican), Mr. Tullock, and Dr. Fisher.
