PADDINGTON TOWN HALL.

CLOCK FOR THE TOWER.

As the outcome of a meeting recently held to consider the matter a committee was formed to take in hand the collection of funds for the erection of a clock at Paddington Town Hall, and It Is hoped that shortly the tower will be furnished with a reliable clock Tenders have been accepted for the work, which is to be completed within three months The clock Is to bo of tne ordinary turret pat-tern, with opal dials 6ft in diameter, a feature being the substitution of tho oidinary nume-rals with Ewardvs VII, in commemoration of the coronation of King Edward Tho clock will be illuminated at night, aud is to be so constructed that should tho objection which has been expressed with regard to the strik-ing of tho hours and naif-hours be overruled the necessary alteration may bo effected at a small cost The project is regarded with eonsidcrable approval by tno residents of the eastern suburbs, as the tower Is a landmark foi miles around Mr C W.
