DECREASED GOLD YIELD.

A statement issued by the Mines Department shows that the gold yield for February was £4(1,700 lina oz, a docrease of 40(19 Ano oz com-pared with the same month of last year.

Headingly station has been purchased by Mr S. Kidman.

For the supply of 2000 tonB of Clio stoel rails and l63 Lons of fishplates, the Railway Department has received four tenders. The lowest Is that of the Maryland Steel Compauy of America, £G 3s Gd for rails and £8 0s Cd lor fishplates.

It Is understood that the Government in-tend proclaiming a rabbit district in the Lo-can Albert district, in order that tho Darling Downs fence might be continued to the sea or to deep water on tho Tweed.
