WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

PERTH, Tuesday.

The failure of the water supply on the goldfields railway is threatened. The water in the dams from Underdin to Buracoppin is expected to last only till December 26. That, however, does not represent the full quantity required on the Northern and Southern Cross line, the department having been for some time hauling water for the use of this section. During the week ended 12th instant 413,000 gallons were hauled for that purpose. Supplies for other sections are also running short.
