METROPOLITAN BRANCH.

A meeting of the Metropolitan Branch of the N. S. W. BTÜ was held last night at the rooms, Pitt-street The question of next season's competitions was considered At a recent meeting of the branch, held for the purpose of adopting rules to govern a competition on the electorate basis, it was loaded to adjourn until September next, which really means shelving the district system till after the coming season After discussion last night it was resolved to hold a special meeting on March 19 (in conjunction with the annual meeting for tho purpose of rescinding the resolution that club football for the coming season was to be on an electorate basis, and also to undo the competition rules so far as they were agreed to at the last meeting of the

branch

With reference to the visit of the English team, it was decided to instruct the representatives of the branch on the council of the Rugby Union to arrange a match, if possible, between a metropolitan team and the Englishmen on a Wednesday during their stay in 33 duty
