METROPOLITAN BRANCH.

A meeting of the metropolitan branch, of the New South Wales Rugby Football Union was held onFiis

day night in the Wool Exchange. Mr. J. F. Macmanager (president) occupied the chair, The meeting was held for the purpose of continuing the consideration of the rules to govern the electorate competition. After the business had been advanced a stage, Mr. Holland moved that the further consideration of the rules st and adjourned till September 29, and in doing so said that it was impossible to get through the rules and form the various clubs in time for the visit of the English team. 1 his was seconded by Mr. Arnold. An amendment was submitted by Mr. Hunter that the adjournment so till next Fri-day evening Amidst much confusion the vote was taken and declared to be equal. The chairman then gave his casting vote in favour of adjourning to next Friday. A ballot To jr. then demanded, and the result was in favour of adjourning the meeting till September 29. Unless a meeting is held rescinding this, there will be no electorate football next season.
