The Itrisltnuc Hospital.

TO THE EDITOR OF-- THE 1I1IISI1ANI5 COUIUKIl.

Slither reference to the letter in your issue of this day ('25th July), from Mr. Alfred Hubbard, a member of the committee. The inaccuracies " contained in this seem to have arisen from the confusion in his mind of the circumstances, for I believe he is too worthy a person

to have otherwise made them.

In my letter to the committee of the 20th July, published in the Courier of the 24th instant, I made an exact statement of facts,

The report Mr. Hubbard speaks of, dated Dili July, signed by the medical staff, and road at the committee meeting on the 13th instant, and, as he says, with my signature attached, I concur in. The propositions (recommendations) of the sub-committee made to the committee on the same day (13th) I had no opportunity of considering, and these have never been submitted to

the medical staff'.

My letter in reference to this matter, sent to committee on the 20th July, was unanswered up to the 24th instant; I therefore had no alternative but to publish it. I was sorry to do this, as I believe the committee have had an earnest desire to promote the welfare of the Hospital, but were lately somewhat hurt led in their action by the criticisms in the Press.

As to my signing myself "Senior Visiting Surgeon," this is a more fact, and not an issuingtones I have been a visitingsiirgenn much longer than any of the other present visiting surgeons, and it is a reason for my moving in this matter.

-Yours, Xe.,

Brisbane, July 26. HUGH BELL.

J.S. Since writing the above I have seen Mr. Alfred Hubbard's letter in the Telegraph of to-day. As it does not keep to the point, and contains insinuations more or less Personal, I see no necessity to notice it further.?[Huon Dhu..]
