THE BLAYNEY TO MURRUMBURRAH

RAILWAY LINE.

[BY TELEGRAPH.]

(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)

CARCOAR, TUESDAY.

On the third section of the Blayney-Murrumburrah line

ballasting is now nearly completed, the only work of that description remaining to be done being the finishing of some sidings. It has now been determined by the Govern-ment to make extensive alterations in widening the heaviest cuttings in this section. With the exception of these im-provements the line may be considered to be completed. Much satisfaction exists in the neighbourhood of Wood-stock and Burly-Jacky owing to the intention of the authorities to erect station buildings instead of platforms as was first intended at those places. It is anticipated that the authorities will allow the contractors for the section to carry general goods, passengers, and mails, which are urgently desired by the residents of the district. During the last few days several trucks laden with produce passed along the line en route to various stations on the Western line. The approaches to the Carcoar railway station are finished, and are an ornament to tho town.
