EXTERMINATION OF RABBITS.

It is hereby notified that the Government of New South Wales will pay the sum of £25,000 to any person or persons who will make known and demonstrate at his or their own expense any method or process not previously known in the Colony for the effectual extermination of rabbits subject to the following

conditions viz:—

1. That such method or process shall, after experiment for

a period of twelve months receive the approval of a Board appointed for that purpose by the Governor with the advice of the Executive Council.

2. That such method or processes shall, in the opinion of

the said Board not be injurious, and shall not involve the use of any matter, animal or thing which may be noxious to horses, cattle, sheep, camels, goats, swine,

or dogs.

3. The Board shall be bound not to disclose the particulars

of any method or process, unless such Board shall de-cide to give such method or process a trial.

FARES AND COLLECTION OF SAME.

Passengers are infoiuied that it is the dutv of the conductors to tear in half all tickets collected, and then place the parts in their bags. In tho case of cash fares, the conductor will acknowledge them hy detaching a ticket li oin his cusli furo book, of the value required, and, after defacing the Burne by tearing oit" one corner, will hand the numbered portion of ticket lo the passenger ; and to collect all fal es as they become due fur each section, the collecting of through fares (except on special trains) being against the rules

of the Department.
