MIlTCHELL LIBRARY Miss Leeson New Librarian REORGANISATION OF STAFF SYDNEY, Thursday. The Minister for Education (Mr D. H. Drummond) said tonight that after the fullest consultation with the trustees of the Poblic Library, satisfactory arrange ments had been made for the' reorganisa tion of the library staff following on the roetirement of Mr. Hugh Wright from the position of" Mitchell Librarian. With a view, he said, to improving the organisation of the library, the opportun ity had been taken to create the position of Deputy Principal Librarian. The trustee has recommended that Miss Ida Leeson should be appointed to to the vacant position of Mitchell Librarian and Mr. J. W. Metcalfe to the new andministrative position of Deputy Principal Librarian. As a result of new arrangements, added the Minlster, the Mitchell Library would have in the person of Miss Ida Leeson an officer whose knowledge of Auatraliana peculiarly fitted her for the position, and by the appointment of the Deputy Prin-cipal Librarian the organisation of the administrative work of the whole library would be considerably strengthened.
