With respect to tho case of Mr. 0'Keefe,_ J.P., of Sandhurst, whose poouiiar conduct on a certain rocent occasion was roporcud on by a board-which found that it would be improper for him to retain ¡his commission of tho poaco-tho Minister, tvhilo agreeing that there had been improper conduct, does not consider it neces-sary to cancol his commission.

A largo deputation to-day mado a renewed applica-tion to tho Ministor for Mines for a liberal voto in aid of the Creswick Mining Disaster Relief Fund, in order to niako it a nucleus for a national acoident fund. The Ministor promised to recommend tho application to

his colleagues.
