GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

IN the Government Gazette of Saturday last are the following new announcements :—

GOVERNMENT PRINTER.—Mr. James Charles

Beal is appointed Government Printer.

PETTY SESSIONS.—Courts of Petty Sessions are to be held in future at Alice Downs, in the Mit-chell district.

CLERMONT,—Clermont, in the Leichhardt dis-trict, will henceforth be subjected to the provi-sions of the Dog Act.

TOOWOOMBA RACE COURSE.—Permission has

been granted to mortgage the race course at

Toowoomba.

PUBLIC ACCOUNTS.—New regulations for the better keeping, rendering, and publishing of the public accounts of the colony have been issued.

CUSTOMS.—Henceforth all Custom duties to be paid at Sweer's Island must be tendered in

cash, Treasury or bank notes, or orders guaran-

teed to the satisfaction of the Collector in Bris-bane.

LEYBUBN POUND.—Mr. Chas. Thomas has been re-appointed Poundkeeper at Leyburn for the ensuing twelve months.

ASSIGNMENT.—Benjamin Britten Smith, of Brisbane, has assigned his estate in trust for his creditors to Moses Ward, of Brisbane.

INSOLVENCY.—The following new insolvents are gazetted —E. T. Aldridge,of Maryborough Joseph Webb, of Toowoomba ; George Alexan-der, of Brisbane, printer ; John Graham, of Toowoomba, farmer.
