Frcflcrlck T. Maple, of McIIwrick street, Windsor, was charged at the St. Kilda Court yesterday with having failed on July 25 to stop at a major intersection, and with having driven a vehicle negli-gently. He was fined £ 1 on each charge, with 6/G costs on the first.

Fines of £2 for having assaulted a constable and of 10/ for having used in-decent language were imposed in the Fitz-roy Court yesteiday on Thomas Ryall, of Newry street, North Carlton.

Hedge acacia or pickly acacia (Acacia Armata) has been proclaimed a noxious

weed in the Shire of Bairnsdale.
