ENLIST

Many New Recruits

Max Carpenter, one of the leading Rugby players in Australia, and Stan. Bisset, a former captain of Power House, have enlisted. Carpenter and Bisset were members of the Australian team which ar-rived in London three days after the out-break of war. Carpenter was coach of Power House, which is the only un-defeated team in Victorian Rugby. He will join the Survey Corps. Officials of Power House club said last night that vacan-cies in the senior and reserve grades will be filled by junior players.

"Tich" Edwards is the latest Fitzroy footballer to join. With his brother, "Chilla" (Northcote), he enlisted yester-day. Smallhorn was at the rooms last night, and will go into camp on Saturday

week.

Alan Buchanan and Percy Cheffers, who played several games with St. Kilda last year, and who have been playing with the seconds this year, are among the latest

recruits.

Players who have enlisted from various Association clubs are:-Coburg: E. Lyons, R. Noble, W. Reid, and D. O'connor (trainer). Yarraville: T. Jones, A. Heffer-nan. Port Melbourne: C. Coles. Bruns-wick: Jack Davis. Preston: Don Whitechurch (selector and former player). Northcote Seconds: Mahoney.

Black, who has played a number of games with Fitzroy Cricket Club, first eleven, joined up on Monday.
