FAVOURABLE REFORT FROM

BARNES BAY.

The Chief Health Officer (Dr. Clarke) stated last night that Fireman Greaves, who was landed from the steamer Oonah at Barnes Bay on March 21, suf fering from pneumonic influenza, was progressing favourably. The Oonah was released from quarantine yester-day. As the passengers and crew show, ed no symptoms of any kind, the steamer was berthed at the wharf at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and the pas-sengers landed. .

The soldiers landed at the quarantine

station by the troopship Lancashire will be released this morning.

The Health Department received ad-vice from Devonport last night inti-mating that the four cases of influenza landed there by the steamer Period were practically convalescent.

Dr. Clarke stated that no other cases had been reported in the State.
