DIES IN EUROPE

Known to all Goulburn Val-ley residents, Mr Andrew Alexandratos, of Wyndham Street, Shepparton, collapsed while on a holiday touring

Europe and died on Decem-ber 29, 1950.

In company with Mrs Alexan-dratos, he was in Athens (Greece) at the time of his death.

Deceased, who was 73-years of age, was born in Ithica (Greece) and came to Australia in 1910, opening two cafes in Melbourne. He was the original proprietor of the well known London Cafe in Elizabeth Street, which he dis-posed of to move to Shepparton.

Arriving in Shepparton in 1914 just prior to World War I, Mr Alexandratos opened the cafe in Wyndham Street, which is now conducted by his son.

He retired from active participation 12 months ago and was residing privately at 461 Wynd-ham Street.

On May 31, with his wife he sailed for a visit to his homeland.

Prior to departure he and Mrs Alexandratos were farewelled by friends and business associates at an evening at the Star Theatre supper room and wished bon voy-age, many complimentary references being made to the depart-ing couple.

He is survived by his wife, sons Nicholas Andrew, George Gerald, Dromedes and daughter Annie.
