The Coburg: committee last night

granted clearances to E Hill to Collingwood and H. Garrick to Carlton. Hill came to Coburg from Collingwood about three years ago. Garrick, who has not played recently, came originally from Carlton. Little and Monday are making good re-coveries from injuries.

The committee last night expressed regret at the deaths of Mr E Bush a brother of the president (Mr A Bush)

SANDRINGHAM TRAINS

Four new men, including Anderson, the Prahran forward, trained at Sandringham. The names of the other recruits, tall and sturdy, were not disclosed. Anderson, an excellent left-foot kick, played with Sandringham about three years ago before transferring to Prahran. He was cleared by Prahran last week.

V. Smith has recovered from a shoulder injury and trained vigorously. He will be rested for another week. Officials stated that the team's showing against Oakleigh was not its best form, but was

due partly to reaction from the hard game against Camberwell the previous week.

YARRAVILLE'S HOPES

Yarraville hopes to obtain Alsop (Melbourne), H. Anderson (Carlton), and C. Luke (Footscray) this week. Anderson will be cleared by Carlton to-night. Luke was to have lodged an application last night with Footscray, but the application has been delayed pending internal adjustments at Footscray.

Last night Yarraville cleared Heffernan, its brilliant full back, and Schutt to Traralgon, where they have obtained employment. The clearance is conditional that Traralgon will retransfer the

players to Yarraville should they return j
