Breen in the chair. A number of resolutions were agreed to for the regulation of the game. On the motion of Mr. W. O'Neill, C.C., seconded by Mr. George Hunt, the following gentlemen's names were added to the club, viz., Messrs. A. S. Freestone, solicitor, P. C. Palmer, and C. E. Smith, C.P.S., the latter to act as secretary in the room of Mr. F. H. Barnett resigned. A challenge having been received from the Gininderra Club, it was agreed that the Queanbeyan Club should play them on the Saturday following, for a new banner, which they did, and won the game. It was also agreed that the Uniform of the Quean-beyan Club should be white turned up with scarlet, the Gininderra being white with blue binding. The Gininderra Club was entertained by the Queanbeyanites to a very good lunch, which was furnished by Mr. Breen. The day's play went off well, the weather being beautiful. THE LOCK-UP.—A short time since, a man named William Forster was admitted into the Queanbeyan Hospital, but within the last month became very unsettled in his mind, at the same time suffering otherwise. On last Thursday he broke out of the Hospital, and it was found necessary to confine him in the lock-up. He became from that time very feeble and to al appearance dying fast. Yesterday morning he expired. A coroner's inquest was held on the body this morning, with a verdict of death from natural causes was returned. THE MAIL CONTRACT.—The people of Queanbeyan feel very much pleased at Mr. J. J. Roberts getting the contract for the next year, from the satisfactory manner in which he has done it this year. Queanbeyan, 23rd September.
