Frolic fun for families

FUN FOR families is the theme for this

year's American Express National Food and Wine Frolic in Commonwealth Park on Sunday, March 20, between 9am and 5pm.

The American Express National Food and Wine Frolic is one of the oldest and most popular events of the 10-day Canberra Festival..

Chief Executive of American Express Alberto Modolo said, "American Express has sponsored the Frolic for 11 years because it continues to be one of Australia's largest outdoor restaurant

events.

"By sponsoring the National Food and Wine

Frolic, we are supporting our merchants and giving the people of Canberra a great day out." '

Top live national acts including Vika and Linda Bull who will be singing songs from their soon to be released debut album and Gina Jeffreys, Tamworth Country music star, will be performing at different stages throughout the day.-' Street theatre performers will be roaming the park.

Highlighting the family theme, will be special guests "Bananas in Pyjamas" performing on the children's stage near the Kangaroo Pool.

All the Frolic favourites will be back including the waiters' racc at noon where up to 50 waiters

test, their,skill over a novelty obstacle course to serve champagne to guests.

The American Express National Food and Wine Frolic would not attract Canberrans and visitors in their tens of thousands but for the superb selection of international food and excel

lent wines. .

This year, 21 restaurants and nine wineries will be offering up to 75 different menu items.

Tickets for Food and Wine will be sold at the frolic on the day.

Purchases of food and wine vouchers can be made with the American Express Card via a special Express Line in the stall area.
